If you like it, Feature itIf you like it, Feature it
Why should we bother writing journals and articles featuring art? It takes time and effort but is it really worth it? Do people read and look through our features?
I'll try to explore some of these questions in my today's article and I'd like you to write your experience and opinions as well!
Reasons to feature
"Why bother" is a question that a proud community member never asks himself. First of all, DeviantArt is a place of inspiration filled with pictures, rarely a person gets by without browsing art and eventually "faving" them. Some people focus entirely on collecting artworks into their Favorites folders - this action and displaying artworks in your journal or a poll brings me to the first reason, supporting the artist. Further than that, it starts a dialogue between you and the featured artist (either via Mentions or by letting them know about the feature yourself).
What is Copyright?What is Copyright?

"Copyright may apply to a wide range of creative, intellectual, or artistic forms, or "works". Specifics vary by jurisdiction, but these can include poems, theses, plays, otherliterary works, movies, dances, musical compositions, audio recordings, paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, software, radia and television broadcasts, and industrial designs."

Photography CritiqueTwo of the groups that I work on Nine-Muses and love-new-artists have or are planning to have sections where members could submit artwork for critique. In Mine-Muses it is called the beginners folder and LNA will soon be having a Critique Folder.
Critique begins at home and I am the biggest critic of my own work. I do it constantly and quietly, not just when I process my pictures and upload them, but also post facto. Refining my gallery over time. While I have never been a formal student of photography, I have gleamed information and guidelines from many sources .. (It has been so long that it would be impossible for me to remember or quote the original sources). I though I would share the method I use and how I go about it with friends and members of the group.
Hopefully I will get feed back and observations from others that would help me .. improve the way .. I improve myself
